Definitely aware I am in a very small minority...

Bush did point out that he inherited a deficit,
1) is that true
2) how's it compare to the current one -
I don't believe any one president or congressional cohort is fully responsible for the state of the nation or the economy at a given moment, but it seems kind of lame for one president to imply that he had little to no effect on the situation after 8 years of office. That he couldn't improve it (or worsen it to some extent).
